Article 62
Presidential Election

(1) The election of the President shall be held from the electorate consisting of members of the Federal Parliament and members of the Provincial Assembly. The votes of the members of the federal parliament and the members of the state assembly will be different according to the federal law.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), it shall not be considered that the formation of an electoral college for the purpose of the election of the President is hindered merely because there is no provincial assembly election in any province.
(3) The person who obtains the majority of the total votes of the electorate according to sub-section (1) shall be elected as the President.
(4) According to sub-section (3), if any candidate fails to obtain the majority, voting shall be held between the two candidates who receive the most votes, and the candidate who receives more than fifty percent of the total votes in such voting shall be elected President.
(5) If any candidate fails to get more than fifty percent of the total votes even from the voting according to sub-section (4), there will be a re-voting. The candidate who receives the most votes of the total Sadar votes cast in such voting will be elected President.
(6) If a person holding a political position for election, nomination or appointment is elected as the President in accordance with this article, such position shall be automatically vacated.
(7) The election of the President and other provisions related thereto shall be in accordance with the federal law.
